11. this is kind of a stretch, but
it was on TV

the old star trek episode where they go to that planet and everyone there is happy and they don't do any work. You just sniff the spores and you become really happy. Even Spock was happy and he was in love with the blonde girl there. I would like to live there.

18. Mr GoG used to tape the old Star Treks religiously...
For some reason he didn't catch the title of that episode; so he labeled the tape "Flower spores, Spock in Love".

Kirk, of course, had to screw things up AGAIN!

55. This Side Of Paradise

The U.S.S. Enterprise's mission here is to find out what's become of a human farm settlement on Omicron Ceti III. The worst is feared as the newly discovered Berthold Rays which constantly bombard the planet are known to in time disintegrate living animal tissue. As such, it's most doubtful anyone on Omicron Ceti III could still be alive.

However, when Kirk and an away team arrive, they receive quite a shocking surprise as not only are the settlers on Omicron Ceti III still alive but all are in perfect health as Doctor McCoy's tests soon prove. What is not explained however is how this can be? How have these people survived here for three years after all the animals they brought with them have died (indeed there appears to be no animal life on any kind on the planet, not even an insect)? How is it that their plant life can grow and thrive so? How is it they are all so happy and content in such a stagnant society and culture?

Mr. Spock's questions are answered in a most unexpected way when he's sprayed by the alien spores which also inhabit the planet. Not only do these spores absorb the effects of the Berthold Rays but also provide a rather startling affect on their human host, allowing the person's innermost personal feelings for desire, happiness and contentment to fully unfold. With regards to Mr. Spock, this causes a most stunning transformation away from the calculated and precise Mr. Spock we all know to a Spock who's actually jovial and fun loving. Even more shocking is when Spock falls madly in love with a female settler on the planet, an old acquaintance named Leila Kolami, a botanist. Soon the spores and their influence begin to spread until more and more of Kirk's crew is affected until finally Kirk finds himself all alone one an empty ship...his crew having left him behind for what the spores have lead them to believe is "paradise". How can Kirk counteract the spores' influence and regain control when they offer "paradise"? Now, marooned on a ship without a crew, Kirk must find the answer before it's too late, but can even he avoid the influence of the spores forever?

73. To me, Lois is suppose to be annoying
and therefore her role is fulfilled...Lana on the other hand is suppose to be this sweet/innocent/strong woman, and she just irritates the crap out of me, because I view her as the complete opposite...btw, you are missing out on a good season, season 5, in my view...was probably the best(third season was pretty damn good too).

61. Eureka Oregon
Coolest town on television.

Very, very funny true story. Much of my family lives on the central Oregon coast south of Newport. My stepmother was talking to a sales lady on the phone about a year ago, trying to explain to her where Yachats is, when the lady asked whether it was near "Eureka". My stepmom assumed that she was talking about Eureka California, and told her that Eureka wasn't in Oregon. The lady stopped her and said "No, not the one in California, the one on the SciFi channel where they film the TV show".

:dunce:
