Very nice flavor, if the aroma isn't perfect. You can taste the pine throughout the hops - however the malt flavors dominate. It works on the palate, giving you sweet and bitter. 8%, you can't taste the alcohol, but it's there. Oh yes - it's there!

2. BevMo in Pleasanton
They have some good brews there. Between them, Whole Foods in San Ramon and Trader Joes in Pleasanton we've got some fine beers here in the Tri-Valley.

4. No - I wish
Actually, I would totally suck at brewing beer. The best homebrewers I know (and after going to school at Oregon State, I know quite a few who "invented" some major beers.)

To be a good brewer, you have to be completely anal. It's all about controlled fermentation - which means you can't accidentally have any rogue bacteria lying about.

I stick better to botany, where rogue bacteria is your friend :)
