...until you try to actually take advantage of a companies "domestic partnership" policy for insurance.
For three months I have been trying to get enrolled in my partner's plan because my job was being shipped to India. Open enrollment was in June, they are taking the money out of my partner's check and have been since July first, but I still haven't received a insurance card and apparently am still not on his coverage.
And people think that socialized medicine sucks?

nilly like. This has been our major problem. A major insurance company who I will not name (BCBS) refused to cover me for my 3 miscarriages because I had elected to have them. I did? Insurance sucks!

I HATE health insurance companies. We had to co on cobra coverage after my husband got laid off. I don't want to go into details because it will make my blood pressure go up. We had Pacificare and it has the worst and most uncaring customer service I have ever experienced.
I am really hoping that we can get some form of national health insurance.
