WTF is going on?
Just opened my work email from home...

thank God I had a feeling I shouldn't wait until I get into work.

My friend's mother-in-law committed suicide...

and another one of her relatives, upon hearing the news, attempted it.

WTF?

Yesterday, I spent the whole afternoon trying to keep someone else "afloat" emotionally...

who said they "just want to give up".

The weekend before I spent worrying about someone who was/is suicidal.

Just stop it already.... people....

stop. it. !

Just... everybody.. please.. stop it.

1. I am sorry.
Sometimes suicides come in clusters. It is awful.

Take care of yourself.

I have noticed that, now that you mention it. I will. Just getting out my frustration(s). Sorry to be melodramatic.

7. I come from a family
plagued with suicide. It is terrible for the survivors (as myself) I still cry after over 6 years since my sister killed herself.
I miss her more than anything and still blame myself.

I am very sorry for what you must be feeling.

I understand.

9. Nope...
In hind sight I now see that My dear sister suffered with bipolar disorder. I just thought she was trying to be dramatic and drive ME nuts.
I called her and called her the day she did it, trying to ask her over for dinner. I wish she would have picked up the phone... Maybe it would have changed her course. I tell myself this often -- It is pathetic since I know how silly this thinking is. She has no idea how this effected me or her son and all the people who loved her.

10. You cannot blame yourself
Please know this: Suicide is emotional. Sometimes there are no logical reasons.

Do not blame yourself. It is NOT your fault. Okay?

11. It is so
subconscious - the self blame. I don't start out thinking "It was my fault" I start by missing her and wishing she was here to be with our family (My children and husband, doggie and kitty and me) then I think "What if she had answered the phone and I got her to come over for dinner? --- the moment of her idiocy would have passed and she would be here bugging the shit out of me!" See?

I just miss her.

I really appreciate your kind words though.

Thank you.

12. You are welcome
Every word I said is true.

If we "what if" ourselves too much

it will destroy us, too.

Something a professor friend of mine told me, after my mother

committed suicide, helps me in times like this.

He told me, "Her motives died with her."

It is so simple, yet so wise. And it has gotten me through many dark hours.

Hugs for you...

14. My dear KC2...
Oh sweetie...

You're in my thoughts...

My brother-in-law committed suicide several years ago after having been diagnosed with colon cancer...

It was a brutal, sudden, horrifying shock...

Wish I were there so my hug could help heal your heart...

17. So sorry to hear
It's good of you to try to help, but a person can only do so much. I can't imagine how emotionally draining it is for you!

My wife's cousin tried to kill himself a couple of weeks ago. He did it by slashing his wrists with a knife...he was almost successful. He caused a lot of damage to nerves in one of his hands, too.

How are you doing?
