I'm pretty darn happy with my orgasms, and have never really had any trouble in that department (ergo, I'm certainly not doing anything WRONG).

But, if I won the lottery and had sick amounts of disposable income, and knew I could increase the intensity of the already-great orgasms tenfold, then yeah, I'd consider it. It's the same reason I occasionally smoke pot: I don't need it, but I enjoy it, it makes me feel good, and my indulging doesn't hurt anybody else.

I think it's a mistake to assume that somebody would do this only if they don't know how to achieve orgasm, or that they're "desperate" in any way.

Especially coming from another woman. She's hurting no one; if she'd done something (say, buy a humvee) that has a measurable negative effect on society, then fine--judge her. If she were doing this to benefit somebody other than herself (e.g., women who do horrific things to their bodies to please society and its fucked-up expectations), then I'd even agree with you that it's sad. But this is entirely different.

It's one thing to choose not to do this for yourself, but to condemn somebody ("idiocracy" , "never approve of") for doing something that makes her happy and hurts no one is a bit much.
