4. I thought Cleveland was trying to clean up the lake shore areas
and develop them in to something nice. I personally have never been there although I was at the Choyhoga National Park thing at the Blossom Music Amphitheater this summer, luckily I never had to actually drive in to Cleveland.

P.S. Just drive up to Detroit I am guessing here but Detroit is probably worse. Every time I have gone to Detroit my car has been violated in some way shape or form. To quote a friend of mine, "You can't spell Detroit with out riot." okay so the o and i are switched but you get the idea.

13. You should have seen it 30 years ago
I visited there in 2004 also and think the city has done a pretty good job rebuilding itself considering the losses it has suffered in manufacturing over the years (I grew up in the metro area). Yes, it has long way to go and the weather will always be terrible. But I wouldn't call it a shit city. That's a little harsh.

15. They used to say the same thing about Pittsburgh
You should see it now.

There's hope for Cleveland. (Even if I did have to apologize to my oldes son for giving birth to him there)

17. Pittsburgh rocks!
I love it here. It's a completely underrated city. Part of me hopes it stays that way so all the people fleeing global warming and housing foreclosures on the coasts don't come here and screw up this city too.

18. You evidently didn't know it when it was 'Steeltown, USA'
When everything you owned lived under a layer of soot and the sky was perpetually gray. Pittsburgh once was one of the dirtiest cities in the world.

16. Just trashing the city doesn't mean they didn't score 7 runs in the 11th inning...
The Tigers were up by something like ten runs in a game against Cleveland earlier this season - and LOST.

19. It's not so bad. I'd rather live there than Oklahoma City (where I am now)
There are a lot of cloudy gray days, but even still, the climate is better than in St. Louis (where I've also lived). HATED the humidity in St. Louis. What a shitty climate - it's far enough south that the summers are *miserable*, but the winters are sucky too.

That alone makes the place all right with me. And, yes. I have been to Cleveland before. I thought it seemed like an ok place.
