I am, both federal, and for the two states I lived in in 2003. And I'm too cheap to buy any of that tax software.

5. TurboTax is the standard

but you can also use H&R Block's TaxCut. Both are equally good.

And getting shit for a return. Actually, the amount I payed into last year was roughly the same as I payed the year before. Since my income dropped nearly 7000 dollars (little less than a third of total income, was layed off for 4 months), it sure looks like my taxes went up.

And people are finished with their taxes--wow! Aren't they supposed to send them by Jan. 31? It seems like I never get mine by then.

14. The law is that they have to mail them by Jan. 31st...

It might take a few days to have them delivered.

I lucked out this year. The Federal pay year ended halfway through December, so we got out W2's in the first week of January. I met with my CPA on Jan. 20th and got my refund on Friday.
