Do Brides blush anymore?
Why did brides blush in the first place?

I cannot remember if my bride blushed or not. I was to excited to notice!

1. Nervousness and anticipation
and the embarassing knowledge that everyone knows what she'll be doing on her wedding night.

2. My grandmother crudely referred to the wedding night
as "Grand Opening." No way could a non-virgin wear white at her wedding. Sometimes they'd fudge and wear "ivory" or "ecru," but everyone knew.

I don't know if you'd call them the good old days, but I remember how whenever a working girl became engaged, she automatically quit her job upon marriage to become a full-time housewife. Only old maids worked their entire life as schoolteachers or secretaries (never promoted).

6. Blushing brides are precious.
And I much prefer them to the profectile vomiting ones.
;-)

I saw that once. Our neighbour's daughter at her wedding threw up and then fainted. We were all very sorry for her. I guess to much excitement is not a good thing!

12. Leigh and I were more afraid of losing it
and blubbering all the way down the aisle.
She and I and Mrs. t. just totally lost it 3 days before the wedding when we went to the church to pick out music.
Several times during the week before the wedding I'd catch her eye, or she mine, across a room at a party, down the table in a restaurant, and we'd both tear up.

The afternoon of the big event, when I saw her in her dress for the first time I had to leave the room so she wouldn't get started and ruin her makeup.

When it was finally time to walk down the aisle, we looked at each other and I said "I think I'm gonna be OK. How about you?" She gave me a big smile and said "Yep, I think we got it out of our systems." And we had.
