Greetings from Cambodia
wow, this town needs a makeover; but the people are wonderful.

I've had HATIKVAH in my head since landing, oy.
Not every country has a "victory over genocide day"
What a bizarre place.

--Hi to all at DU

Hope all the Dean people haven't all left the building, I hear the boomers/Kerry generation kicked Deans genX'ers butts in the first two primaries...nothing new there...and so it goes...to quote Linda Ellerby.

Well for all you genX'ers who froze your butts off in NH and Iowa, come on over to Cambodia, it needs a lot of help and it's warm!

Feel free to view some of our pictures of Cambodia at this website:

And please, be kind to each other, life is precious.
Peace,Out.

1. That's a long way away
I hope all is well for you there.
Dean supporters are still around. He is sticking it out, so others will stay with him. Are you just visiting, or are you there long term?

3. Isn't Angor Wat in Thailand?
The burning of the Thai Embassy in Cambodia was sad over a rumor. It's tragic how mistakes happen when people feel a national slight.

It's all about forming a Thai-Laos-Cambodia alliance! The ancestral lands of Thai/Laos is in Cambodia anyways. Kinda like what Austria is to Germany.

4. Angkor Wat is definately in Cambodia
The burning of the Thai embassy last year, while started by a rumor, is just a sign of the deep resentment Cambodians feel toward their new economic masters. As far as I can tell, most of the economy-- what there is of one-- is controlled by Thai's and Chinese now.

Flying over estern Cambodia, not a sign of life, I guess a result of carpet bombing (from the US) and the Kmer rouge killing most of the people that were left after that--I think it was Pol Pot who said he didn't want any Cambodians who thought like Vietnamese, whatever that meant, so he brough it on, as it were.

But there is definately tension in the air, I wouldn't want to be a Thai or Chinese in Cambodia for the next few years.

5. Are you working with Refugees International?
They keep tabs on what is happening in Cambodia in regards to the minefield cleanup and refugee situation.
