Glassy

scalloped

lacy



Dark was the screen

And then


The curling edge

Frothed into my vision


Such feelings

Inside me


I am

Imperfect



It amazed me

That late

Summer day

it reminded me of something i wrote a few years back

i really hope you don't mind my sharing (pic and all) this picture captures the closest thing i've ever felt to total enlightenment




i never felt so content as i did that day

the waves breaking over my legs

ankles numb in pain

feet buried in the sand

staring out past the horizon

eyes squinted against the sun

there was complete peace for that short time

i felt it slip away even as we walked back to the car

still clinging as i wiped the chicken grease from my fingers
