8. Teak.
It's the hardest and most durable of woods. Teak grows to be 30 - 40 meters tall. Because of it's natural properties, it is particularly excellent for use in exposed areas.

12. Old growth Tiger Maple dredged from a 125 year logging wreck
preserved by the cold dark waters at the bottom of Lake Superior.

From this I could save a tree that hasn't been logged yet and veneer many pieces of beautiful furniture with a variety of wood older than anything around today (and that no longer exists ANYWHERE else for ANY price.) But If I can't get that (and sadly I can't) I'll take some nice Baltic Birch veneered 11 ply and make a nice baby friendly coffee table...

15. It really depends on the application, for little boxes - cherry wood...
for furniture - black walnut, rustic applique - redwood/redwood burl, etc
