This Library of Congress site has recordings and interviews with former slaves, most of them from the '30s. Recording quality varies, but this is a fascinating site!

I haven't had a chance to check out the site, but it sounds fascinating. I think that these recordings have immense value historically - it's their own stories verbatim. Not revised or interpreted by historians.
