Here she is! (Kitty pics)
This little girl, Charlotte, needs a home. We have 7 cats and just are at our limit in terms of cats getting along with one another (we have one verrrry difficult female), finances (oy - the vet bills), etc. She is an exceptionally sweet cat, about 6 months old (I'd estimate she was born in the spring).

2. polka dot belly! I know!
If we had our own place, I'd probably keep her, cat-fights be damned, but we rent right now; moved in with 2 cats and now have 7 and just don't want to make our situation even more precarious!

put your mouse over the photo, right click, and then click on "display image" (or something like that, maybe "show image")? I don't know why you're getting red x's! Wah!

10. thanks for the good wishes. She needs a good home; she's really a
'people kitty' - likes to be with humans. It's just so hard - sooo many animals need homes, I know it's an uphill battle....

Sonia looks like such a happy girl! I'll bet she's bossy, though. Panda and Roo are sweetie pies.

Might have a lead for a home for Charlotte... she and her sister Samantha are getting spayed/shots/etc. Dec. 4 --- Samantha is a happy-go-lucky girl, running here-there-and-everywhere, but Charlotte is a homebody and needs someone to love. Keep your fingers crossed for her!

but where are you located? I have two sweet boy cats, and recently lost my old-lady cat, so I have the room.

Charlotte looks like a great cat - is she tolerant of dogs?

23. sorry, didn't mention it specifically...
I'm in western NC - but will go to almost any lengths to get her a good home. Not sure about dogs, but she's fine with other cats. We live in a rural area, lots of dogs wandering around (though I've never seen them interact directly) and she seems to be able to hold her own - she's feisty, but in a good way, not an aggressive way, and I've been able to reconcile her and my indoor/outdoor cats very easily, within minutes, it seems.

24. definitely interested
But I'm just concerned about the distance between us - I'm in Houston so that would be a long haul for either of us.

Sounds like I could integrate her well with my cats & dogs. Do you think Charlotte would adjust to being an inside cat full-time?

26. I think she'd be fine indoor all the time --
Edited on Tue Nov-13-07 03:10 PM by Flaxbee
might take a bit of adjustment, but every time I open the door to go feed her, she zips inside - leading me to think someone dumped her. She was definitely handled as a baby, no skittishness at all being held by a human, she'll rub around your ankles if she gets a chance!.

There is one other person who is looking at her - but I should know very soon. As for the drive, maybe we could meet halfway, or I could drive most of the way and meet you somewhere?

I'm going to PM you with my contact info...

Oops (on edit) - looks like I can't PM you yet -- let's just stay in touch via this thread -- will that work?

I'm not a very prolific poster, so, yeah, I can't be pm'd or pm anyone else :{ That's what I get for being a bit of an on-line wallflower.

I'm a single mom, so I can't drive too far, but I could maybe meet you in northern Louisiana. I would be willing to help you pay for gas, too.

Her sister Samantha (isn't around as much) is also quite lovely, but more of a pure tabby, rather than a calico/tabby blend like Charlotte is.

39. It is very tough -- I avoid all areas where there might
be kitties needing homes -- I want to give them all wonderful places to live with lots of good food, but I also can't afford to have dozens of cats, nor do I want my life to revolve around cats. But the urge to grab all of the needy creatures in the world and care for them is almost overwhelming at times. I'd take in every dog that needed a home, too, if I had room and a place of my own.

Another kick for Charlotte!

with the hunt for Charlotte's new home. Are you still looking for someone to take her? If I remember right, you said you were traveling over the weekend, so you might not be able to reply back today.

I just want to say again that I think she is gorgeous, and I would love to make her part of my little family. I understand if you need to find someone closer to you, though.

45. hi angel823-
I've been kicking the thread so we can stay in touch. :hi: Thanks so much for posting again - I appreciate it! I think I'll know about Charlotte by Sunday or maybe Monday and will let you know as soon as I do. It's Friday night around midnight as I type this, and I'm going to kick this thread at least once a day on Sat. and Sun. but will be on the road most of the weekend time so might not be able to respond very quickly. Please check back Monday if you can and I'll update you as best I can.

Thanks again!

But no room at the Critters Inn.

Three cats and a beagle. Plenty, thank you.

And I now have tiny black kittens--and prob'ly their mom--living under my front porch. Caught a kitten trying to climb into my dryer vent this morning. Born just as winter is starting....it's gonna be a hard life, and the local shelter says it's full and won't take any more cats. Wish I could keep 'em.

Why don't people spay or neuter?!!!!
