I sold my house! I sold my house! It closed today

What are the two happiest days in a boat owner's life? Answer: the day he buys the boat, and the day he sells the boat. Well, the same applies to a house. No more lawn to cut, no more plumbing to fix, no more bills or taxes.

Even better is that I am moving in with the the lovely Janice! She is not a DUer, but she is about as leftist and peacey/justice as I am.

When someone walked off with my string trimmer at the house sale a week ago, I told her "this is great, I never have to weedwack again". She said "not so fast". She has a house too; fortunately her yard is a lot smaller.

I am so glad to be rid of the house, the sale was a real nuisance itself. I had to escrow thousands of dollars for a new septic system. Not only that, I had to pay the auditor's office $650 just to transfer the property out of my name. The annual taxes were only $2000, for comparison.
I am happy it is done though. More time to surf and do Democratic activism.:bounce:
