Patrick Stewart: X3 due in '05, "I think Star Trek is over,"
Stewart: X-Men 3 Due In 2005

X-Men star Patrick Stewart (Professor X) told the Bradenton (Fla.) Herald newspaper that he expects a third installment in the hit franchise next year. "X-Men 3 should come out in 2005," Stewart told the newspaper.

Stewart also told an audience at the Sarasota Film Festival that he hoped the franchise continues for several more films, the newspaper reported.

As for his other venerable franchise? "I think Star Trek is over," Stewart told the audience. "And that ain't such a bad thing. The last movie didn't do well. ... But I'm sure all you saw it."

1. He is correct
ST films are dead in the water...the last two made sure of that

3. Ugh, no kidding.
I've been willing to cut them a little slack, just to see the NextGen crew on the big screen. But Nemesis... blech.

2. Star Trek has been done for a few years
Anymore, I think of Stewart as Professor X rather than Picard.

4. lol
Galaxy Quest as a farce was MUCH better than the last 3-4 ST movies combined...I think GQ could very well be the last word in this series.

6. patrick stewart said "aint'?
I'm having trouble hearing that in my mind

star trek has been dead since roddenberry died. it lost all creativity/ the shows lost their colorfulness and got all grey and militarized and the fun was taken out of them

16. Yes!! Very True... He OWNS That Part... That That Part OWNS Him Too...
I'll forever see him as "Patrick Stewart as Sterling as...." whatever role he's playing.

P.S. I also do the same thing with Faye Dunnaway (Faye Dunnaway as Joan Crawford as ... her current character.)

10. I'm kind of the opposite. I think the series that came AFTER the original
are infinitely better. But I'm crazy so that probably doesn't count.

11. They are just going to make a Voyager movie
Also Berman is gone. I loved Nemisis! They just need to come up with a good story.

17. Nemesis scriptwriting was a disgrace to the franchise
I'm sure Roddenbery rolled over a couple times in his grave.

What do these writers think, they put any kind of crap on the screen with the Star Trek label and we'll buy it?

Dumbasses.

12. Cool
Can't wait for X3.

As for Star Trek, B&B killed it pretty well. Hopefully they can get someone to revive when they get rid of Berman (and Braga as well).

15. Pity
We're looking more "inwards" nowdays than looking toward the stars and the future.

I agree though for different reasons; let a Republican "hack" script a movie and Harry Potter will construct an Ark, sing Hymms and multiply "fish-and-chips" into a feast that will feed London.

Never mind the "magical" qualities of friendship, love, loyalty, a thirst for knowledge and truth and working as a member of a team.

I suppose that's a Democratic trait anymore and open to critisim by Lush and his NYSE/OxyContin crowd.

Pity....
