64. Green Meanie, I saw a PBS special about "Miss Navajo" -- a pageant held by the tribe.
Among the things the contestant must do is KILL AND BUTCHER A SHEEP.

The documentary is just amazing. I happened to catch it very late one night.

If you get a chance to see this, it's a very personal look into a life you may never see again.

82. This is a fantastic movie...
I saw it in August at the Traverse City Film Festival. (I've been a volunteer for three years.)

I am very interested in traditional tribal life.

:hi:

Cut & paste of a post I made recently to answer, "When you were in Kindergarten, What did you want to be when you grew up?", by hnmnf.

I yearned to go back in time and live like a traditional American Indian. I had a vivid imagination, was a tomboy, and would daydream incessantly about it. I loved riding horses and camping. I learned how to dye natural fibers, spin, weave, make pottery, and many other Native American crafts. My grandmother taught me many herbal remedies.

Now that I'm all grown up, I love to camp, hike, fish, make crafts, and I plant a big garden each spring. Unfortunately, I live in a brick ranch, but the tepee is out behind the house. We use it often in the warmer months.

Here's a picture of the local rug rats playing in the teepee...

18. Hmm... lessee... I tend to be pretty open, so I have to think on this one.
I was trained in classical violin since 4th grade and I majored in violin in college, but I stopped playing for a while when I dropped out of college for monetary reasons. I've picked it up a little bit again though.

In college I also joined a renaissance music ensemble and played several renaissance instruments.

When I was younger, I wanted to be a writer. Then I realized that I may be good at creating worlds and characters and whatnot, but I suck as a storyteller. So I started focusing on video game design instead. :)

Because I was interested in video game design from a young age, I started programming in 3rd grade.

I once had (and I think I still have) the poem Jabberwocky memorized.

Hmm... let's see...

'twas brillig, and the slithy toves
did gyre and gimble in the wabe
all mimsy were the borogoves
and the mome raths outgrabe

"Beware, my son the Jabberwock
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch
beware my son the jubjub bird
and shun the frumious bandersnatch."

So he took his vorpal sword in hand
long time his manxom foe he sought
and rested he by a tumtum tree
and stood a while in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood
the Jabberwock with eyes of flame
came whiffling through the tulgy wood
it blurbled as it came.

One two, one two
and through and through
the vorpal blade went snicker-snack
he left it dead
and with its head
he went galumphing back.

"And thou hast slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy
Caloo Calay!" He chortled in his joy.

'twas brillig, and the slithy toves
did gyre and gimble in the wabe
all mimsy were the borogoves
and the mome raths outgrabe

Did I miss anything? :)

all my papers "Larissa C------".
Larissa is not my full name. It's just "Lara". I confused some people.

3. I sucked my thumb until I was nine. At one point it became infected and had to be cut open.

4. I got busted for stealing a SHITLOAD of masking tape (over the course of a few weeks) from the school supply bucket, in third grade. I was hoarding it my desk, for no apparent reason.

5. My middle name is "Noelle." I didn't name NoelMN after myself, I just liked his name.

I have a dent in my skull for when I split it open when I was 6.

I've died(drowned) when I was about 10.

I was born at 12 pounds, 0 ounces.

I was about one millimeter away from being blinded in my right eye when a bottle rocket exploded in my face when I was about 12. I have a scar on the white of that eye.

Actually, come to think of it, a lot of shit happened to me when I was a kid, hell, I'm surprised I lived through it.

I am extremely flexible, physically.

I once did a 21-day cleansing fast, just to see if I could do it.

I was badly rear-ended when I was 17 and wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Duh. The VW engine was totaled.

I am quirky with numbers: I remember dates and birthdays easily

I am an incredibly fast reader.

91. 5 random things...
1. When I was 7, my aunt flipped an old bronco with me and several other cousins in it. No one was injured. The best part is, I slept through the whole thing. Everyone was out of the vehicle and looking for me (I was sandwiched underneath two seats) before I woke up.

2. Similarly, when I was 5 or so, I slipped away from my parents in Sears and went to the furniture section and crawled behind a chair and fell asleep. The store closed and my parents and all the employees were looking for me for a couple of hours before one found me. (Don't know why they were so sure I was actually in the store, but...)

3. I'm an introvert, for the most part.

4. Vanilla ice cream is my favorite dessert. (I'm plain like that).
