Peanuts: do you eat the shell, or not?

A new place opened up in town, our county having recently very WISELY voted to allow - gasp! - the serving of beer and "hard likker" in restaurants. A hardcore fundie guy here who happens to be very, very rich had successfully kept the county restaurants from serving anything but wine for the last 20 years, but so-sad-for-him, his efforts were squashed earlier this year. So, you can now cozy up to the bar in the new place, order a beer or vodka and tonic or whatever, and eat a whole huge pile o' peanuts if you desire. They're still in their shells.

My husband shells them, but I eat them shells and all. What do you do?

kinda crunchy. I don't eat tons of 'em, but maybe 10-12 or so, including the shell. Only the 'single nut' ones, though; the 'double nut' ones have too much shell. ;-)

2. EAT the shells? Yikes! No, I put the shells in my mouth, enjoy the salt and then

use my teeth as a nutcracker. then I eat the peanuts and toss the shells into a pile.

5. I've never heard of anyone

eating the shells. Guess they won't hurt you though. My parrots don't eat the shells either and they love peanuts.

I haven't done it recently, but I have done it. You have to chew them a lot before swallowing

15. sometimes, I just chew all the flavor and then spit out what is left.

I do that both boiled and roasted and raw. I don't know what the big deal is on here...of course I am pretty country, maybe that is it:hide:
