I got freaked out by a bug today...
looked kinda spiderish, but it only had 6 legs. reddish cylindrical body. Red spots on the joints of the legs. Anybody ever hear of that one?

2. Nope. It's probably benign but I'd freak out too if I had no idea what it was.
The first time I saw one of these I freaked because it's huge and uglier than it looks here:


We don't have those in New England.

5. Yes, that's what it is.
The first one I found was under my compost pile and it scared the daylights out of me.
