1. Relax, the Patriots can pull it out again on Sunday.
Seriously though, I've had a few panic attacks in my life. Feels like a freakin' heart attack or something. Slow deep breaths, stretch and drink some water.

4. Hey....
I get them occasionally. The trick is to convince yourself that they will not hurt you, because they indeed will not, even though it feels like they will.

Whatever triggered it will look clearer and not be as bad in the morning.

11. Happens to me all the time...
well, not ALL the time, but it does happen, and it makes me feel better. Life can get hard, really fucking hard, and facing it all the time with a "stiff upper lip" is simply not human.

If it continues, it would be helpful to talk to someone about it...but you will be OK SPK.

as a matter of fact

also went and saw my shrink, who changed my meds

12. a recent one of the daily Kabbalah emails I subscribe to said this about anxiety:

Anxiety is a mirage.

On a psychological level, anxiety creates an imaginary future that doesn’t really exist. For example, you might be anxious that flying will lead to a plane crash, so you avoid the thing you fear. Usually the bad thing hasn’t actually happened to you, and probably never will. This can be true for anything from asking someone on a date, to speaking in public, to walking on a quiet street late at night.

What are you most anxious about today? Instead of imaging the worst case scenario, allow yourself the pleasure of imagining the best case scenario. What do you have to lose? (Besides a nervous stomach and tight shoulders.)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've had panic disorder for going on 20 years now. When I start to feel anxious now I tell myself it is a mirage. So far, so good!

13. yeah, i've had my share of panic
i don't always end up crying which feels stupid, even though it is no doubt needed.

a mirage

i'd agree with that

i've had panic attacks, and take meds, have had therapy, and am working with a counselor now. A few things to be anxious about, but, they are all just mirages, not reality.

Well mostly.

Then it isn't anxiety, it's reality.
