Why is it, when I finish a household chore, the dog thinks SHE deserves
a treat?

1. Do many of these chores involve cleaning, straightening up, or otherwise being in the kitchen?
 My dog automatically assumes that when someone is in the "food prep" area, that they are obviously preparing food and naturally will drop some on the floor for her. :eyes: Doesn't matter if we're only washing dishes or cleaning off the countertop; she associates human presence in the kitchen with the possibility of food. :P

Incidentally, she also expects a treat any time she comes in from the yard, whether or not she's actually done anything to deserve it. :hi:

2. Actually, it was the bathroom.
Not only did she feel she deserved a treat when I was done, but she kept wanting me to play ball with her while I was cleaning.

3. Huh.
I dunno then; I guess it can just be chalked up to dogs being silly? :loveya: Our dog avoids the upstairs bathroom like the plague, because she knows that's where Mom takes her for a bath - something she DOES NOT like at all. But the downstairs bathroom is where we feed the cats, so occasionally she'll try to sneak in there and see if there's any cat food that got dropped on the floor.

4. We have to shut every door in the house when it's time for the
dog's bath, which she gets in the kitchen sink. If we don't, she'll find the most inaccessible place (for us) in which to hide.

Funny thing is, though, when she's getting her bath, she's really good, and doesn't try to get away or anything. Dogs! Gotta love 'em!

5. Haha, yeah, we have to take precautions like that, too.
:hi: If anybody even mentions the word "bath," or tries to spell it - Katie has somehow learned how to "spell" certain words - she'll be out of reach in a second. I've never been the one to bathe her so I don't know if she behaves well or not, but my mom usually comes out not TOTALLY soaking wet, so I assume that's a good thing. ;) And yeah, dogs are wonderful. :loveya:

6. It's her job - waiting
She deserves the treat only if you did a splendid job of cleaning. That's the law. ;)
