One of my favorite bands. They do the same thing as the Dead, but don't sound like them. (I actually got this from a Phish message board). And I am from CA. And the guitar player trey Anastasio is one of the better ones around....

I love the Dead. I will have to grab some music from these guys and give them a second listen. Talk about guitar playing....Zappa is great...or should i say, was great :(

6. Phish does "Peaches en Regalia"...and the first time I saw them

Zappa is who they reminded me of the most. It was like going to weird music school, sort of. Trey is the most Zappa influenced guitarist around that never played in his band, I think.
