A computer question.
I want to keep an external drive fromcausing explorer to automatically pop up a window without changing the autorun settings of the host computer.

What should I modify in the autorun.ini file to stop the explorer window from popping up every time?

open=LaunchU3.exe -a
icon=LaunchU3.exe,0

Launchpad=LaunchPad.exe
Vtype=1

FileNumber=1
File1=LaunchPad.zip

1. If I remember correctly, I'm not on Windows XP right now...

but you can change the autorun settings on a per drive basis. Generally its a bad idea to mess with Autorun.ini unless you know exactly what you are doing. Besides that, Autorun.ini is only used for compatibility purposes for programs designed for DOS or Windows 98 or earlier, and only runs at boot time. Similar to Config.ini.

What I would recommend is that you take the external drive and plug it in. Then go into "My Computer" and right click on the external hard drive and look at its properties and turn autorun off.
