The kids put together a "cookbook" as a Christmas gift for their parents. I hope you all have your notebooks and pens ready, 'cause you won't want to miss these gourmet treats. ;)
Yellow Cake (submitted by Bailey)
First you get a mixing bowl. Then you put flower in it. Then you put milk in it. Count three eggs and brake them. Pull out the shell parts that fell in the bowl. Then add that yellow stuff that Mom puts in those cookies she makes. Bake for 10 hours. Drink milk with it. The end.
Sloppy Joes (submitted by Nick)
You get the sauce. Then you bake it some. Put meat it. And when it's done, put it on some warm bread, the kind that you put burgers on. Then if the bread isn't warm enough, you have to put it in the microwave and warm it up. And when it's done you put it on a plate and everybody eats it.
Christmas Sugar Cookies (submitted by Brendan--my son)
First you roll out the dough and put some sugar on it and flat it out. Then you get the cookie cutters out. Then you punch them into the dough. And then when you're finished doing that, you put them on a tray. Then you put sprinkles on, all kinds of colors. Set the oven to a couple of degrees hot, like the temperature outside in the summer when you go swimming. Then you bake them 20 minutes. Then you eat them!
Bacon and Cheese Omelette Sandwiches (submitted by Gavin)
You crack the eggs and put them on the pan while it's on where those little heater things are. You give it 5 minutes to cook. Put on some bacon and cheese. The kind people usually eat. Then you put them on some bread, the kind that I make my ham sandwiches out of. Then you put them on a plate and eat them.
Spaghetti (submitted by Jessica)
First you put a big big pot on the stove. Put lots of hot water in it and boil it. Put some spagetti in it. Then you take a medum sized pot and dump all the sauce in it. And you put mushrums and unons in it. Then you cook the sauce for a little bit, 30 minutes. When it's done you just let it sit for a little bit.
Mommy's Homemade Pizza (submitted by Jordan)
To make the dowe, you put some flower, then you roll it up, then you smooth it out in a pan. You put it in the oven. Then you put peperone on. But first you put the sauce on the pizza. Put the cheese on. You can put some mushrooms and pepers on top, unless you're alergic to mushrooms and pepers, or if you think pepers are grose, like me. Set the oven at 40 minutes, 80 degrees. Then you put it inside. Then you take it out later and put it on plates and eat it.

I am seriously considering making an entire "cookbook" of Brendan's "recipes". It would be a wonderful keepsake to have when he's 16, and Far Too Cool to associate with the likes of me. ;)
