It's interactive in that you can put your hand on it and the lightning will be attracted to where you are touching the ball. But it doesn't have any control from the computer - just power.

I held it in front of the speaker and it seemed to me as if it was bouncing with the vibrations. On the other hand it could have been the power of suggestion. It is pretty bonkers on its own.

So, fun stuff to do:

Get a fluorescent lamp (or one of the new energy saving ones) and hold it next to it. Wireless power!
Get a fine wire and hold it close to it, you might be able to get some tiny sparkles going outside of it.
