Is it wrong for me not to desire a "Man Cave..."
I mean, I don't feel so threatened by women that I have to have my own designated space to isolate myself and, from what I gather, do manly things without any chance of interruption from such dangerous women as Rosie Oprah Whoppi and Babs...

It kind of reminds me of that Iron John myth stuff from a while back when men were encouraged to get in touch with there inner man...

Hell, I never lost touch, I don't feel at all out of place in the modern world and damn, I would rather work with women than with men...

It goes without saying that I am not a metro sexual and I don't crave manicured nails and suits that fit oh so right...

I don't care all that much for cologne, after shave and I don't depend on a "body Spray" (does that mean you stink all over?) to make me attractive to women...

A car is something to get me from one place to another and I do not feel inadequate when I hire someone to do "Manly" work...

I once hired a company called two chicks with hammers...

I thought that was clever and they are going great guns here on the west side of Cleveland...

You know it's pretty much a good thing that nothing Madison Avenue can throw at me will make all the much difference in my purchasing patterns...

I tend not to want things anymore...

I now get stuff I need...

1. Being single, my whole home is a "man cave".
I think the term is idiotic. Just another Bull scat term some nimrod came up with to sell crap to suburban men who feel they have become emasculated by marriage. If you need a special room to be a man you have serious problems & the money spent would be better used by getting professional help.

7. I have never felt emasculated...
That explains why you don't need your own "man cave".

3. I have a woman cave
I think the man cave thing is a misnomer.

It's really more about introverts and extroverts.

If you're an introvert, you crave alone time at some point during the day and need some place to do that, sort out your thoughts and feelings.

If you're an extrovert, you find alone time awful and prefer to sort out your thoughts and feelings connecting with others.

I thing mostly men, in general, have been labeled introverts when really they might not be, like you.

Introverts can be male or female (like me.)

:-)

5. I got my Man Cave before Madison Avenue coined the term
When I met my wife she knew that she was getting a long-term bachelor comfortable with squalor.

I moved into her house. To ease the transition she designated her furnished basement as The Lair. Most of the crap from my single days lives there: An old couch, posters from rock shows, and of course, an abundance of porn.

I smoke and drink there when we have family gatherings.

There's nothing wrong with you not wanting one but I really enjoy mine.

6. You know, in my perfect home, there will be my space, her space and our space.
We're both only children so we occasionally need our own space to be alone. She can have her space to do what she likes and I can have my space to do what I like. Therefore, we're out of each other's way to enjoy our alone time.

But, your situation may be different. Ours is not about anything more than some alone time.
