Lord's Gym Fitness?
Edited on Sun Dec-16-07 02:16 PM by RainDog
I just saw the strangest advert at the bottom of a thread that advertised for this gym with a totally buffed out Jesus, except that it looked like his skin was gone, with a crown of thorns doing a rear deltoid lift with a cross.

So I wondered... Am I hallucinating?

Then I found this:

Jesus in the video "Pumping Iron" - the part where he breaks the cross... and I suppose that also means the entire story of his life is being rewritten for Hans and Frans?

2. Dude - we need to make some "Darwin's Gym" shirts
With "Survival of the fittest" as our monkier.

Can you imagine a bearded cartoon Darwin doing deadlifts?

9. That is bloody brilliant.
I've never joined a gym in my life, but if one of those opened up around here I'd sign up in a heartbeat.

The trainers should teach you how to intelligently design your exercise routine... :P

6. this "testimonial"
from your link

Marines stationed in Iraq are staying fit and sharing the Gospel with the Lord's Gym line of apparel! The Lord's Gym shirt is great for excercising, but also for sharing Christ's strength with others, even in the intensity of military life in Iraq. We recently received an e-mail from a Marine telling us that "we're wearing them, passing them out, using them as a witnessing tool, and absolutely causing a few heads to turn."

I'd bet Mikey Weinstein doesn't work out there.

10. Oh, make it stop!!!
I am SOOO tired of having to explain that I'm not THAT kind of Christian!! People like me need to come up with another name for ourselves. I do NOT want to be associated with this.

I'd rather be associated with this:http://www.ministryforgodsanimals.com/

11. Call yourselves "Enlightenment Christians"
b/c that's the stumbling block for fundies. Scalia said that the enlightenment was a problem b/c it usurped the power of the church. so glad to know he's on our supreme court, huh?

13. How about 'Rational Christians'?
I know you're out there....

Those who feel "God gave us a brain, damnit! And he'd be pissed if we didn't use it!"
