Just took my little kitty Inuyasha in to be neutered
Wish him luck. He is a wild cat that I tamed. He is the most loving kitty. I'll post another thread about my wild life adventure this past summer with pics of his sisters.

1. He will be okay.
I've heard neutering males is easier. He's a gorgeous strong boy, too! :loveya:

3. Thanks for being responsible!
Thank you for being a responsible pet owner!!!

I am a cat rescuer and male neuters are not generally difficult at all. The vast majority of the "guys" are fine by the time they come home from the procedure...but I do send wishes of luck to the kiddo for an easy day!!

And bless your heart for taking him in and giving him a loving home!

8. Thanks for sending the wishes
It's been a long time since I've had boys around. The last time I had males I had to take three to get altered. I had to drive quite a way to the clinic. The three of them meowed the whole way. Very nerve racking.

I wasn't planning on keeping the little ones (already have two indoor cats, one was abandoned by the owner after his death and my neighbor was going to put her to sleep if we didn't take her, the other one we found at my in laws) I had planned on taming them enough to take to the Humane Society, but I couldn't do it after all. I didn't want them to be separated.

I don't even have the money to get them altered but I did find some people who are doing this at a cheaper rate then the vets in this area. The females are the most expensive. Right now I have been keeping them in my studio, because I don't want the girls getting knocked up. They have been showing signs of being in heat, but only with the meowing, not the slithering and rolling on the ground. Maybe it's a false heat, but don't want to take any chances.
I hate keeping them indoors, and it looks as though I might have to do it for a few more weeks.

I would like to thank you as well for being a rescuer of cats. That must be a hard job, but rewarding at the same time.:loveya:

9. I hope he doesn't lose his playfulness
He loves Spacemen/Aliens fishing. I have some Spacemen/Aliens that I attached fishing line to and throw it around for them to play with. Sometimes he takes the lazy approach and only plays with it as he lays on the floor at other times he runs to attack it.

I also have Mardi Gras beads that I also throw around for them to chase. Sometimes I just hung them around the bodies and watch them try and get them off. Very funny.

11. Inuyasha is named after a Japanese Anime series
When he was little he had totally white ears (which is why I named him that) but now they are bi-colored.

12. Yes I am well aware of Inuyasha . .
Adult Swim use to air it all the time (And then joke about how they aired it all the time)

Still cute name for a cat.

17. They're still airing it, although I've seen the whole series
We also have the Japanese version on DVD. However, I just love the English version, that I haven't watched the original ones. There's just something about the Inuyasha (english) voice that makes me swoon.:loveya:

I still will watch them occasionally. One of my favorite anime's, of all time. It's a really good story.

I also have a cat named Kilala. We had named her something else but she never responded to that name, so I renamed her Kilala and she immediately started responding to the name. She has fur that comes out the bottom of her feet, which is why I decided to rename her.

7. So long
nutz!!!! :hi: :applause:

Cat neuters are ridiculously simple, slit slit pop pop done! They usually take a grand total of maybe 10 minutes, if the vet is a slow-poke.

I'm taking my puppy girl Agatha to get her baby-maker removed tomorrow!

Hooray for neutering!! :toast:

I love his long flowing hair. And well how can you resist those ears. Then there is always the full moon to consider when he gets to be a full human, with his long flowing black hair. Yummy.

22. Hmm, well OK, I guess I don't have room to talk...
I have a weakness for women who could kick my ass:

Sango kicks ass.

The only thing I can say about fangs or ears is that I have both, and let me tell you, they are more an inconvenience than anything else, especially the fangs, biting holes in my lips is no fun. I even had them filed down when I was a teenager, and they grew back to points! What the hell is up with that?

Okay, are you a half demon? If so what tribe do you belong too?

How DOES ones teeth grow back after being failed down? I haven't a clue why they would do that.

And are your ears pointy at all? I'd like to pull them if they are like Kagome pulls Inuyasha's.

at least I don't think so, your opinion may differ from mine. As far as being a half-Demon, I don't think so. In addition, I hope you don't take offense that I hope you never have the opportunity to pull on my ears, sounds uncomfortable to me. :)

15. Your boy will be okay. I worried myself sick in the days before Ginger was neutered,
but for his safety (less inclination to confront and tear into -- and thus expose himself to disease and injury -- strays who wander across our property, and the un-neutered male cat's natural inclination to wander away in pursuit of females in heat), it was the right thing to do. Male cats seem to recover more quickly than female cats from the neutering process, too. Just give Inuyasha lots of love, attention and comfort when he gets back home after the procedure. Thank you for being a responsible companion!

23. Thank you Heidi
I'm trying not to be a worry wart.

Yep, that is the reasons why I wanted to get him altered. He was already exploring across the street. One day night around sunset he was across the street and I was using the flashlight to locate him. There was a car up the street with the car running and lights on (they were talking to someone at the house it was in front of) and naturally when they started to drive down the street Inuyasha darted across the street. He almost got hit. I decided then and there that he needed to be altered so that perhaps he wouldn't wander off.

There are a LOT of stray cats wandering around the neighborhood. Sheesh, I just wished they were all fixed.

His sisters are missing him.

We almost named Sango Koga but found out she was a girl. So we renamed her. We also have a cat named Kilala, because she has fur growing out the bottom of her feet.

Here's a link to the other kitties, as well as some other wildlife. Check 'em out

A day or two, or less than that?

It's been a very long time since I had to do this for my last set of males.

28. I'm not sure which he should find more traumatizing...
The fact that he's getting neutered, or the fact that you named him Inuyasha!

:hide:

Seriously, there is no need to worry about your kitty, I'm sure he will be fine. He's a handsome fella too! :hi:

31. Update: I got my baby back and he's recuperating
But stupid me I didn't know that they gave me post op instructions, so I didn't read them. When I had my other male cats altered I didn't have any instructions and just let the boys out of their carriers and they seemed just fine.
I feel really bad that I had to put Inuyasha through this ordeal. I just hope he will forgive me.

I let him out of his carrier and he acted like he was ready, however, he was not. After trying to find a place to hide and running (or trying too) I left the carrier door open and he eventually went back inside. I now have him in the bathroom where it is warm, and dark.

He is resting fine now and hopefully he won't suffer from his cosmic mama's stupidity.:spank:

I didn't know this but according to the instructions he can still father children for up to 90 days. Yikes, I don't think I have to worry about him and his sisters, hopefully, keeping fingers crossed.
