All of these pictures of kittens in the lounge have done it. I'm going to get a companion for my only cat, although I'm sure he won't appreciate it at first. Actually, it won't necessarily be a kitten as I'll consider grown cats as well. I can't wait.

I'm so excited about getting a new kitten as a companion to my only cat, Bitsey.

I think Bitsey deserves to have a friend to hang out with, sleep with, play with, sniff the roses and swat butterflies with and someone who will help kick the two bulldogs (next door) butts when they venture onto "cat" territory!

5. Adopt an older kitty!
I adopted two boys-6 and 7 years old-in May '03. It was the best thing I ever did! They are calmer than kittens and generally less destructive. Also, kittens tend ot get adopted right away, whereas older kitties get euthanized. :-(

9. That's why I'm not ruling out an older cat.
I want a big, lovable sweetie like I had growing up. I still miss Xan Xan. He was the sweetest cat that ever lived. If I can find a cat like him, I'll be thrilled.

7. I would love to have a kitten
but unfortunately, my Rottie thinks they are something to snack on.

10. Well
I don't know you, but I admire your good sense. I couldn't live without my furbabies. However, what I would suggest, without trying to influence you too much, is consider two instead of one. While it's not widely known outside of cat fans, cats do get lonely, too, and having a best friend and buddy is always better than being alone. Especially if you consider having them indoor cats only, and have then spayed/neutered early on. They won't spray, yowl into the night and drive everyone insane if they have a mate, and are going to be house cats exclusively.

Good luck on your big adventure--in a year or so, you will wonder how you ever lived without them. :)

11. That's true
I always get two of either animal I get a cat or a dog. Plus it's more fun to play with both of them.

12. I already have one.
I do stay home with my kids, so the cat is never completely alone. But, I do think he'd love to have another cat buddy to play with because he usually forgets he's not a kitten anymore, himself. I'm hoping it will cut down on the surprise attacks on my ankles.

13. I suppose that is a marginally better choice than
HAVING a kitten.
