What's your favorite thing to eat from Costco?

I just brought home a Costco rotisserie chicken (mmmmmm chicken) and I was wondering "I wonder if other DUers like these as much as I do." So I decided to ask. So... what do you like from Costco? I like a whole lot of stuff...

4. You're gonna love it...

The chicken is awesome -- and big. We used to get about three meals out of one and then use the carcass for soup.

In the freezer you'll find a wild rice and chicken casserole that is awesome. Toss it in the microwave and dinner's in 10 minutes or so.

Their pies are terrific -- I love the pecan and cherry best.

Can you tell I don't cook?

I'm single. However, there might come a time when a Costco membership will come in handy. I'm just showing them my support.

I'm single too... that's why I get a lot of their frozen stuff for lunches. If you ever need to order a cake for something, theirs are well priced and pretty darn good. It's a great place to buy books and DVDs too.

And their take-home-and-bake-them-yourself pizzas are fandamntastic. They are very reasonably priced and provide enough food for a family, a friend, and a lunch the next day. I love CostCo.

13. The reotisserie chicken is the best deal.

$4.99 and delicious. I don't get their other reprepared food because I prefer to cook. Their fruits, salad stuff and vegetables are great deals.

Also the fact that their two top guys just gave $95K to anti-Bush groups is an added plus. Also they treat their workers well and I've made a lot of money on owning the stock since 1995.

I'm an internationally known wing-bone eater (you know---crunch crunch crunch down the bones on those wing tips---delish!) so i adore costco's verrrrrry rotisseried chickens. Good eatin'!

The GF likes 'em for the value (it's a big chicken for a small price) and her many, many cats adore it too---a win/win all around.

Later, we'll make chicken sammitches with costco avacados on 'em, and maybe some costco hearts o' palm on the side.

LOVE costco, and even tho non-union, they are verrrrry good to their workers (thus wall street hates 'em).

Costco was king in the Seattle area (it's based in the northwest), everyone seemed to be a member, and talked breathlessly about it. But a True Fact: In my 15 years living there, I never once stepped foot in one. Not once. :-)

But the chickens might chnage that one day. (We only have a Sam's Club in Flag, and I WILL NOT shop at a Wal-Mart-owned store).

If you're there anywhere near dinner time, they'll put out 15 fresh-roasted chickens, and every single one of them is gone in five minutes, every time. It's a staple of our menus, as it's inexpensive, easy, and they don't put bizarro flavorings on them. The local grocery store charges $3 more for their chickens, and they use the most horrid flavoring sauces on most of them - we call them the lemon-poppyseed-jockeystrap chickens. The plainer ones go first, you'd think they'd get a clue that people don't want the pseudo-ptomaine-flavored chickens.

I buy books and cds at Costco. There isn't a diversity of selections, but the prices and quality are good.

My favorite things to eat are the free samples. It's a little sickening to see people herd for bites of free pizza squares or teriyaki chicken. However, there's a whole lunch in them thar aisles.

The fruit smoothies are also excellent.

Plus, they recycle packing materials instead of using bags.

40. I show up hungry on Saturday mornings

to do my monthly shopping. I start with protein on the meat and fish aisles...work my way over to frozen to get in on the newest burrito or lasagne or ravioli..back trak to the backery and then head to the back where the juices are..once I am stuffed I head to the cash register with my goodies! Full for the day.

BTW -- I once got a kitten at Costco. I parked my car next to a woman and her daughter who had kittens they were giving away. Of course I looked! There were two beautiful Siamese - with points and pretty blue eyes. I picked one of them up and she hissed at me. There was also a little tabby. I picked her up and she cuddled and purred. And then there were 4 cats at my house. She is my princess -- Princess Lucy Peanut Butter.

The weekend food tour is priceless. However, they do shift products quite a bit.

Plus, I've noticed that their baked goods get moldy really quickly. They last about a week. I share with my friends, if I buy Costco bagels or croissants. It's like Costco Christmas.
