Question about tripping...

4. The last time I dropped acid was Mardi Gras

about 7 or 8 years ago. I've only done 'shrooms a couple of times, and that was over 15 years ago. I rolled during a hurricane a couple of years ago, and that was a hell of a lot of fun!:party:

They are legal there and you can buy them in "smart" shops so I did them. I don't have the need to do them anymore. The last time I did acid was the last time I saw the the Grateful Dead minus Jerry last summer.

7. I did a lot of tripping in the 1960's, usually had a very good time

with White Lightning, Blue Flats, Purple Wedges, Orange Sunshine, Window Pane, blotter, Lemon Wedges, STP Orange Barrels, etc.
I remember when people would drop acid and just listen to the latest albums on a turntable-fer cryin' out loud.
Best of all were group trips of lots of people doing things like going to see "2001" in a theater or going skinny dipping or even having an orgy or two-LOL.
I had my Summer of Love a long time ago and even though I hung out with the hippies I never was one, music is my trip.

I did acid just a few times in 1971-72. The first time was very interesting -- it put some ideas and ways of thinking into my head that I've been working out the implications of ever since.

(It also got me over a fear of spiderwebs that I'd had since the age of five. The acid made it look as though everything had webs clinging to it, and after freaking for a few minutes, I just made up my mind to forget about being afraid and get on with the trip. The fear went away and never came back.)

But then the second time was just like the first. And so was the third. I wasn't seeing anything new. Besides that, I was always exhausted the day after, and I kept having nightmares for months.

So I finally reached a been there/done that moment and went on to other things.

I thought I was in heaven talking with god (it was actually my trip-buddy). I thought that we were communicating with sophisticated hand signals and so it didn't matter that I cursed him out and told him to get the fuck out of my room. I thought he understood with my hand signals that I actually loved him.

I also thought that god used all people's eyes/ears to view through and switched people every microsecond so that for each microsecond, everyone was god. Get it?

Lymon Hall, Geogia Tech's old chemistry lab, in '73 or so. But I had eye protection, apron, and rubber gloves. I was the graduate assistant supervising a bunch of freshman nerds.

16. Did psych's from 1970 - '82, never a bad trip

1970 - orange barrel or windowpane for the Fillmore West, followed by all-nighters, and a sunrise dip in the ocean at Santa Cruz or morning walk in Muir Woods.

1971 - the "acid rules" (which also applied to 'shrooms, peyote, etc.) were laid down: do it only a) With good friends b) When you have no significant worries or crises c) Outdoors, drop early in the day, nice weather preferable d) Allow plenty of time to come down in a comforting setting.

Hundreds of trips backpacking, climbing, skiing, fishing, hiking, most of all seeking truth through open perception. Never had a "bad trip", just TONS of great experiences, but 12 years was enough intensity for a lifetime.
