Chili experts! I have a question about rice!
I like to eat rice when I'm eating chili. It's white rice from the Mexican "Goya" company BTW if you're curios. Did you mix the rice in the chili or place it on the side. It's Texas style chili too, no beans, there beanless chili isn't half bad IMO.

1. I've never eaten rice and chili together, but it sounds like it would
taste good either way. I personally like to eat chili over a piece of cornbread because I like the way the flavors complement each other.

2. i mix my chili and rice. mmmm
not very "pc" but i also like corn in chili. something about the sweetness of the corn and spiciness of the chili. and i was born and raised in texas so i am probably going to hell for the corn thing.

30. Wolf brand chili, straight from the can, over cold white rice
I lived on that for a year when I was a freshman in college.

Left the house at 5:00AM, didn't get home till 11:00PM

Everybody in bed by then, so grab the rice from the fridge, and the chili from the pantry, wolf it down, and off to bed...

32. You should try refried pinto beans with monterrey jack cheese
melted in.

I used to call it beaner butter.

It's great on toast.

3. Out here, we generally ladle the chili on top of the rice
as if it were gumbo or etouffee. In fact, I just did that at lunch today (office potluck).

Then again, we eat rice for breakfast -- often with Spam.

6. I'd pour it over the top. Presentation is important, and it would look
good that way. I'd put some chopped jalapenos, some chopped white onion, and shredded cheddar. Put the Cheddar on first.

But I've never heard of the bag thing. It looks like fun, gonna have to try it. Of course, beer is the beverage of choice with something like that. Or milk.

18. As confirmed by Wiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frito_pie

Frito pie (also known as "Frito Chili Pie," "Frito Boat", "Chili Frito Casserole" or, in the Midwest, a "Walking Taco") is a corn chip and chili con carne dish of disputed origin, popular in the South Western United States.

11. If the chili's really spicy, the rice helps save your mouth from melting.
I've eaten it on the side, alternatively with the chili, and I've put it in a bowl and spooned the chili over the top, which makes it easier to get the last bit of juice out of the bowl.

29. I don't eat rice with chili, but if I did
it would be on the side so that I could mix it as I ate it. I have some chili recipes where the beans are on the side and it's a different experience that beans cooked into the chili.
