Concrete Blonde appreciation thread.
Post-punk, pre-grunge alternative rockers with a powerful female lead, poetic lyrics, and some truly classy guitar work. Not quite punk, not quite grunge, not quite art rock, but featuring elements of all.

They've written some great songs along the way.

1. Dude, I'm SO there! Huge Blonde fan!
Johnette Napolitano is a goddess.

I've even got the 1986 EP from Dream 6, CB's original incarnation.

5. Every one of their songs I wasn't initially crazy about
has grown on me. Such subtle orchestration. Such passion.

LOVE Concrete Blonde

4. I have the greatest hits CD
even though I've gotten around to listening to it once or twice.

The type of band that's hard to label. Maybe alt? Hard to find a station that would play them.

8. I absolutely love Concrete Blonde
The only song I knew by them was "Joey" until I met ThinkBlue1966. She introduced me to their other stuff, and I just fell in love. Walking in London is awesome, Tomorrow Wendy is awesome, Bloodletting is awesome--Concrete Blonde freaking rocks. :)
