2. Those are actually "New Years" cards
And "New Years" trees. New Year is a fabulous opportunity for Eastern Europeans to get looped and do life-threatening stunts. Come to think of it, that's a world-wide tradition.

And that's not Santa - it's Deda M'Raz, or Grandfather Winter.

Lived in Eastern Europe. Done that.

5. Deda M'Raz, or as he was known in Russia "D'ed Moroz"
:-)

3. They all say "Happy New Year" (S Novym Godom)
The Soviets transferred most of the secular aspects of Christmas to New Year's Day, since the Russian Orthodox Church actually celebrates Christmas on January 7.

But what's fascinating is the consistent space travel motif.

if I sent out Xmas cards I would definitely look for something like this. Hell, makes me almost want to send out cards. Thanks for posting.
