1. I'm pretty sure I do
Which is a shame, because I think some of the things I find (mostly through the work of blogs and such) are genuinely useful and need wider attention.

In the last 24 hours alone, I have killed 6. LOL And that will probably rise before the end of this night.

On edit: Fixed a typo, cuz I have a bad habbit of missing keys.

4. Yup!
I often post thoughtful and well written contributions only to see the thread drift off into obscurity. Watch...... it's happening already...........

7. the sad inevitablilty is
that one of us "serial thread murderers" will ultimately kill this thread. That means one of us is the worst thread killer of all. (or is it most effective thread killer of all?)

13. It's 33/33/33 for me...
33% chance I kill a thread.

33% chance I don't kill a thread, but absolutely no one responds to what I think is a well-thought-out post on my part.

33% chance any thread I start will sink like a stone. (Like, the incredible FUNNY one I just posted to the Lounge that nobody's noticed. Ahem!)

The only exception to my 33/33/33 rule is the occasion when I make a "throwaway" post to which I expect no response at all... and when I wake up in the morning, I find 76 replies waiting.

If one of you college-edumacated types can come up with some sort of theory about why this happens, with lots of numbers in it, you could probably base your thesis on it.

Your numbers are eerily accurate, friend, and seem to apply to me, too. :-)

14. Yes, I have a deft strategy
I only sample DU during the wee hours Pacific Time. To beef my thread killing stats, it helps to briefly rescue a thread from page 6, or thereabouts, one that generated a meager number of replies.

I insert a remarkably bland reply and let the thread drift off page 1 before the morning regulars arrive. Presto, killed thread!
