Did anyone watch Frontline last night on PBS? It was about porno

They were showing men's asses from "Debbie Does Dallas" and half breasts of women. Sort of ironic since we just had this whole "boob" thing with Janet.

They discussed how the Bush administration was going to prosecute the big porn kingpins like Larry Flynt in Sept. of 2001. Apparently, they were really REALLY putting a concerted effort into it and wanted to stop them in their every move. The only thing that shut down the whole operation was Sept. 11. However, they will be back, so says Larry Flynt.

The Clinton Administration didn't care about prosecuting the porno industries. In their view, they had bigger things to worry about than some porn kingpin like Larry Flynt.

The Catholic Church and other interfaith groups also lobbied AT&T to stop servicing pornographic websites. AT&T turned down the request since they made so much money off of it anyway.

Was it the one where the Frontline crew went to a shoot for an "extreme" outfit, and walked off the set because it was so disturbing (but still consensual)?

Personally I don't consider porn inherently immoral or harmful, it's just the kind of thing that can cross the line pretty quickly.

I would have liked to see more interviews with women & men actors in the industry, as well as former actors, to get an idea how many of them, if any, feel victimized or exploited. I remember one of the guys at Hustler's video operation pointedly said "girls" instead of "women" when discussing the actresses in the Barely Legal series.

4. I'd love for Ashcroft to go after Flynt...

Flynt has a pretty good track record of crushing those who try.

6. I am under the impression that Ashcroft and friends are going...

to go after smaller guys (like Bush did with Iraq), rather than to go after the big boys.

If Ashcroft went after the really big guys, if would begin to affect corporate America who offer films from the big guys on their various cable channels and in hotel rooms across the country.

Besides, the big guys tend to stick with rather tame fare as opposed to the smaller outfits.

5. You should have seen the 20/20 story.

Or maybe it was Dateline. Some network show.

They were following young porn actress around. They were going out of their way to show how horrible the industry was, and how anybody who watches porn is some kind of pervert.

Then when they would go to commercial they would say something like," Coming up after the break... Suzy, the girl next door from Oklahoma, looses her anal virginity."

Repleat with a close up of a very sweaty Suzy with a furrowed brow and moaning.
