Ooh! Wine score!
The bf came home Friday with a bottle of wine - a xmas gift from his boss.

1997 Alexander Stonestreet Cabernet.

I googled it and it's a $75-$95 bottle of wine! W00t!

1. 94 points from Wine Spectator, nice friggin gift!!
It's actually (realistically) a $100-120 bottle of wine. Enjoy it!

2. Really? Wow!
We're not used to that kind of stuff. We're sitting here drinking mimosas from a $6 bottle of Trader Joe's "champagne" and complaining that it's not as good as the stuff we get for $3.

8. Where did you see that rating from Wine Spectator?
For a 1997 cabernet.

4. Well I made the mistake of telling him it's good stuff
I was hoping to have it with our xmas dinner, but he'll probably insist on saving it for some big occasion - but the apocalypse itself would make him stop and think about whether "it's time".

5. Well, the apocalypse hardly seems like a joyous occasion on which to break it out.
I hope you get to enjoy it with Christmas dinner. It was a Christmas gift, after all.

Remember that Santa died on the cross for your gifts.

Will it go well with it...that's the question, then convince him of it!

10. '97 was an excellent year for California cabs
So in addition to the wine being a higher priced bottle, the vintage year brings it up even more. Nice score! Enjoy. :toast:
