23 dogs, 3 cats, and ........... A CHICKEN?
This is the weirdest/sickest thing I've heard yet today.

<snip>
PALESTINE, Texas (AP) - A state trooper found 23 dogs, three cats and a chicken in a van during an East Texas traffic stop, and he said the driver and her elderly passenger were covered in animal feces.

"When I approached the van I could smell the stench 20 to 30 feet away," Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Jim Cleland told the Palestine Herald-Press in its Thursday editions. "It was then I discovered the animals."

He said feces were piled up to one foot deep in parts of the van.

1. I don't understand what's the big deal?
It's just a couple of your average Tom DeLay supporters.

It all makes sense now.

5. It's really just an insurance scam.
It's cheaper to insure the van as an agricultural vehicle. But in order to prove that that's it's primary use there must always be a chicken in the vehicle. Hence the phrase "No chicken No Check."

3. Gee. The dogs I can understand. Maybe even the cats.
But a chicken? Well, that's just weird.
Oh, I'm sorry. Did that sound sarcastic?

On a side note, I think that this may void their warranty. It expressly states in the owner's manual to change the animal feces every 6 months or 6 inches, whichever comes first....
