Lots of flour to extinguish.

Had to remove the smoke detector batteries.

In fact, we have now made it through the entire holiday season with no fires! Yay!

4. Smoke Detectors Went Off

I didn't have flames, but a lot of smoke and I also had to remove the smoke detector batteries. Leaving au gratin potatoes in the oven to make sure that they are brown on top isn't the best idea, apparently. Fortunately, it was a warm day in Ohio, so I could open the windows and let out the smoke. :)
