What's your favorite Bugs Bunny Cartoon
I just downloaded 20 classic Bugs Bunny cartoons off of iTune. I loved watching those things when I was a kid both on Saturday and after school (Ch29 out of Philly would have them on at 4pm each day).

My favorite was Wakiki Wabbit (not one of the downloads). I love how they would integrate classical music with the hijinks of Bugs Bunny and his friends.

1. I bought some of the DVD's for my son.....
after I got saturated with Pokemon and the like... I'm glad that he seems to like the classics, too.

My favorites are the overtly opera related ones- "Kill the Wabbit!!!!!" and the one that takes place at the Hollywood Bowl.

16. How dooooooooo!
Probably the best 'toon ever created. Beyond genius — inspired genius.

How about a nice, close shave?
Teach your whiskers to behave
Lots of lather, lots of soap
Please sit still, don't be a dope
Now we're ready for the scraping
There's no use to try escaping
Yell and scream and rant and rave
It's no use, you need a shaaAAAAAVE!

OOH! OUCH! OUCH! OOH! OUCH! OUCH! OOH! OOH! OUCH!

Derrrrre!
You're nice and cleeeeeean!

6. Abracapocus. Hocus cadabra. Newport News. Walla Walla Washington.
The "Transylvania 6-5000" episode was one of my favorites. I also liked the episode Hansel and Gretel, and also the one where Bugs Bunny was a bullfighter. The episodes with Daffy Duck were always good too, like "Rabbit Season" and the episode with the abominable snowman.

Bugs Bunny was always a favorite of mine growing up, and I always looked forward to those cartoons on Saturday mornings. :)

35. Hassenpfeffer (sp?), the Gangsters (??), and Hassan Chop!
Hassenpfeffer (?) is where Yosemite Sam is for some reason the cook for the king, who grows bored with his menu. "Every day it's the same thing... VARIETY! I want something different!" is the best line... so the king wants hassenpfeffer, the prime ingredient is, of course, rabbit. Hijinx ensue.

The Gangsters (no idea the actual title) have tiny but tough Rocky with his oversized idiot sidekick hiding out in a house while the police look for them, and Bugs tries to "help them out." "He's not hiding in this stove." "Oh, so he's hiding in the stove." "Would I turn on the gas if my friend Rocky were hiding in the stove?" "Well..." "Would I throw in a match if he were hiding in the stove?" BOOM "Well, I guess you're right. We'll go look for Rocky in the city." Hijinx ensue.

Hassan Chop is Bugs and Daffy doing sort of a Ali Baba thing where they find a cave full of treasure, guarded by Hassan, a large ill tempered guy with a large samovar (?) sword who runs around saying "Hassan CHOP" and trying to cut the heroes into tiny bits. At one point Daffy is wallowing in the treasure "I'm rich! I'm a happy miser, a wealthy partisan!" Hijinx ensue.

7. Hare-way to the Stars with Marvin the Martian
with the just-add-water martians

i love the backgrounds on that one.

also Falling Hare with the gremlin. that's a world war II one-
it's fascinating how the cartoons were used as propaganda. some
of them are extremely politically incorrect now.

8. A few years ago my brother bought a bunch of Loony Toons DVDs for his daughter.
He felt that if she couldn't get Bugs Bunny references, she just wasn't educated properly. :)

That, and between the two of us we can do just about all the Loony Toons voices. I do a damn good http://www.stickmanltd.com/voices/marvin.mp3">Marvin the Martian and a decent http://www.stickmanltd.com/voices/duckseason.mp3">Daffy Duck, and occasionally a decent Bugs. My brother can do a spot-on Road Runner 'Meep Meep' and a fairly decent Elmer Fudd. So she needed to be properly educated in Loony Toons so that she'd know what the hell we were doing when we broke out into quotes and impressions.

Ironically, I had a speech impediment as a kid that made me talk like Elmer Fudd... but he's the one Loony Toon voice I can't do very well.

28. Here you go - the Square Dancing Spiel
Bugs Bunny:
Promenade across the floor
Sashay right on out the door
Out the door and into the glade,
And everybody promenade.

Step right up you're doin' fine
I'll pull your beard you pull mine
Yank it again like you did before
Break it up with a tug of war.

Now into the creek and fish for the trout
Dive right in and splash about
Trout trout pretty little trout
One more splash and come right out.

Shake like a hound dog shake again
Wallow around in the old pig pen
Wallow some more you all know how
Roll around like an old fat sow.

Allemande left with your left hand,
Follow through with a right and left grand
Now lead your partner the dirty old thing
Follow through with an elbow swing.

Grab a fencepost hold it tight
Whomp your partner with all your might
Hit him in the shin hit him in the head
Hit him again the critter ain't dead.

Whop him low and whop him high
Stick your finger in his eye
Dirty little rhythm purty little sound
Bang your heads against the ground.

Promenade all around the room
Promenade like a bride and groom
Open up the door and step right in
Close the door and into a spin.

Whirl whirl twist and twirl
Jump all around like a flying squirrel
Now don't you cuss and don't you swear
Just come right out and form a square.

Now right hand over and left hand under
Both join hands and run like thunder;
Over the hill and over the dale,
Duck your head and lift your tail.

Don't you stray and don't you roam
Turn around and promenade home;
Corn in the crib and wheat in the sack
Turn your partner promenade back. <the hicks fall off the cliff>

Bugs Bunny: And now you're home; bow to your partner, bow to the gent across the hall, and that is all

45. speaking of being too non-pc to show on TV
I was browsing thru Youtube last night looking for classic Bugs Bunny and found the one BB cartoon that has been banned since 1968

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_This_and_Rabbit_Stew

:wow:

I mean, there was some risky, non-pc stuff but this one goes off the deep end.

Funny thing is - just about everything done in that cartoon they redid with Elmer Fudd.

Daffy Duck was always getting the shotgun blasts intended for Bugs, and after every shot, the position of his duck bill would be altered. Those were the best laughs.
