9. To save time.

I keep a candle lit under my soldering "plate" to relight my torch. I was moving some stuff around my work bench and moved the candle to the top of a nearby metal cabinet. I turned my back to work on something on my vise and thought I should not turn my back on a open flame. Has I turned back towards the candle to blow it out I noticed a reflected glow coming off the wall and that awful smell of my hair burning. My ponytail must of got close to the candle, and the fire raced up it like a mini-Malibu. My whole head was lit up and I had to beat out the flames with my hands re injuring my shoulder.

I am unhurt, but lost about half my hair volume. It could have been much worse.
