What do you do for a dog with the runs?

She seems fine otherwise, but three times today she's cried until I let her out.

This doesn't seem to be a new problem, but until now we've thought the occasional poopy accidents in the house were the fault of the other dog, who loves him some green apples. :P

Skip the usual dinner. You might want to take her in to see the vet though, if this is common and ongoing.

3. It's hard to say how common it is

She seems to have been having accidents in the house about once every two weeks for about a month and a half. She's got a delicate stomach, and this weekend was full of treats, ya know?

Do I put anything in the rice, or just serve it plain? :shrug:

and it's been the same, but my mom feeds her people food too. Not a lot, but last night after dinner Bailey barfed COPIOUSLY all over the floor, and there were whole big chunks of meat in there. :puke:

So if Pippi eats like the Bee, it's probably as much an issue of how she eats as what she eats, no? :shrug:

10. Ongoing digestive problems should be taken to a vet

for a good analysis. Some dogs can't/don't tolerate certain foods, though. We had one rescue who had all kinds of problems, but there wasn't anything the vet could find. So, we switched him from our vegetarian kibble to one of Nutro's bags-o-critter, and it cleared right up.

But we're a bit poor right now. If we had money for vet bills, we'd go get another dog. :P

I've got some rice on the stove with some of the jucies from my mom's pot roast yesterday.

Try the rice, and limit those person-food snacks. If it continues, try switching kibble brands.

Corn is horrible for dogs digestive systems and most foods have it.

...and it usually clears up in two-to-three days. If the dog seems reluctant, flavor it with a little canned chicken or broth.

Is fine for dogs. I think it's 1 pill for each 25 lbs. You can google it, I'm not 100% sure.

5. Boil hamburger and white rice

its the dog version of a BRAT diet. If its something she ate, let it run (no pun intended) its course. Make sure she has fluid to keep her hydrated then feed her bland food. If it continues, contact a vet.

We have 3 large dogs, and our eldest now has a more sensitive stomach, stuff she used to eat now gives her the trots. So you may need to look at the diet (and any snacks)
