What's the longest you've stayed friends with an Ex?

As I'm texting back and forth with my very first bf from when I was 13, 18 years past, I'm wondering. What's the longest you've stayed friends with an Ex? We've been in and out of touch all along, lived together for a bit when I was 19, but always seem to find each other, even though our lives are sooooo different, and we've been on different coasts for many years. My other Ex, we've been bffs since I was 14, were together from when I was 23 to 28, friends again (mostly) now.

I still have maintained some contact with an ex back when I was 19. Albeit a short term romance, we were friends before and friends afterwards.

Many years went by without speaking to her just lost contact. Then saw her at a funeral. another 10 years went by, and some email exchanges over the last year with her.

12. 31 years and counting...

I'm still friends with my college boyfriend (and his wife and I know his kid). Also friends with my just-after-college boyfriend. And I'm very close friends and always hanging out with the guy I broke up with about 7 years ago. :-)

but he's no longer an ex... he's my BF, the love of my life. We should have never parted then, but we were too young to know any better. Now that we do, we feel reborn and we feel lucky to have each other again as lovers, best friends and housemates, and future spouses.

It's just kind of worked out that way. I don't hate any of them, and I'm pretty sure they don't hate me.

Even during the divorce process, I didn't speak that much with my ex-wife - which is kind of strange given that she could make Dick Vitale look shy & reserved. We kept in touch for a bit, but then she just stopped calling and emailing.
