Rita Mae Brown's Foxhunting mystery series has a character...a beautiful, intelligent, articulate young black woman who is a student at a very high class girls-only school. Her name just happens to be 'Tootie'.
Wonder if there's any connection...
Oh, and this Tootie can ride horses well enough to foxhunt...which is saying something, apparently.
No foxes are killed or harmed in the making of these books...in fact they get some pretty darned good maintenance in order that there SHALL BE foxes. Not just to hunt, but because they fill an important ecological niche...oh, the books go into all that.
