8. SOME people think Bennigan's Monte Cristo takes the crown.
"A delicious combination of ham and turkey, plus Swiss and American cheeses on wheat bread. Lightly battered and fried until golden. Dusted with powdered sugar and served with red raspberry preserves for dipping."

After that, a trip over to the Triangle in Swissvale for one of those battleships. I've really got to find an excuse to make a trip back to the 'burgh.

15. You start with sourdough bread-
Edited on Thu Dec-27-07 07:38 PM by Sugar Smack
you spread it lightly with mayo, then put thinly-sliced red onions, muenster cheese & mustard on one side. Then, you pile on turkey and a little tiny bit of salami. Then, shredded lettuce and thin tomato slices. Then, you add avacado slices and bacon and cukes and sprouts. Douse the sprouts with thousand-island dressing first.

16. How about a 'day after'
Edited on Thu Dec-27-07 07:40 PM by YankeyMCC
you know the day after Thanksgiving - Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce - preferably on a nice hearty bread - no some wimpy supermarket white bread.

On Edit: Another possibliy comes to mind, something I used to love to have throughout the year but haven't had in a long while I just realized - a meatloaf sandwich, with catchup and cheese - either in a grilled grinder or like in the day after between two slices of hearty bread - preferably wheat. (even in my pre-healthy eating days I always liked whole wheat better - more flavor)

26. Thick slices of fresh picked tomatoes,
the juice would run down your hands. The bacon just this side of burned, so crispy and dry it would snap. The lettuce almost as crisp. Whole wheat toast with the Hellman's on the toast, only enough to tease, not to overwhelm.

Yes.

34. I love, love, love muffuletta sandwiches...
but the best in Indiana has to be Shapiro's corned beef on rye, the Reuben, or the peppered beef.

Good to see that you survived the in-laws! :hi:
