Well, wow. I just got the crap scared outta me.
I'm sitting here in my studio in absolutely silence, doing about 50 things at once, and suddenly the door is thrown open without a knock, and Oswaldo, our postman, tosses a big yellow envelope on my desk. "Ciao!!!! Resto! Buon Anno!" And then he's gone like a flash.

Sheesh, I love the guy for returning my change to me, but a knock would be nice. :yoiks:

1. I know the feeling.
I too startle easily. At work people have learned to give a light tap on my door before entering.

2. I think Oswaldo got the message when
I greeted him with, "SHIT!" instead of "Ciao!" :spray:

13. It's great that he's teaching them the important stuff
Hey, did'ja know Monty Python got away with "shit" twice because they said it in furrin languages? Once was when Beulah Premise was on the phone with Muriel Sartre; when she asked for Jean Paul and was told he wasn't in, she said, "Oh, merde."

Then in the "Michael Ellis" bit, the Nazi agent who was undercover as Queen Victoria said "Es schmecke wie ein Scheisshaus" when she noticed the aroma from the carpet being soiled after people freaked over Dennis Keats' "Ode to a Glass of Sherry":

My heart aches and a drowsy numbness pains
my senses, as though an anteater I'd seen
A nasty long-nosed brute
With furry legs and sticky darting tongue
I seem to feel its cruel jaws
Crunch, crunch, there go my legs
Snap, snap, my thorax too
My head's in a twain, there goes my brain
Swallow, swallow, swallow, slurp

Just thought you'd like to know that. :D

and even if I could remember it, I like you so well that I wouldn't inflict it on you. :spray:

14. Man, I wish I was in Switzerland now...
I didn't see much of it, but if the rest of Switzerland is anything like Swiss International Airlines and Zuerich International Airport, (Which IMHO, is the best airport that I have ever been to, leaps and bounds over Heathrow, O'Hare and McCarren in Vegas.) then I'm sure I would enjoy Switzerland immensly, especially in Winter.

Frohe neues Jahr!
