As most of you probably know, I was planning in taking a trip to Whistler where I was going to ask my GF to marry me. That didn't work out due to a trip to the ER, as most of you also know. Anyway, it turned out that I got a pretty bad cold over the weekend, so if we had gone to Whistler, instead of skiing I would have spent my time in bed, and not in the fun way...:P

Instead, I was home with orders to relax until the doctors could see me this week and figure out what happened.

So I got to spend my time home, in bed miserable except for the fact that my amazing and wonderful GF decided it was her mission to help me get better. She stayed with me all weekend, and was just awesome to be with. She was so very sweet and caring.

Sunday afternoon, we were on the couch in front of the fireplace, listening to some Music when she fell asleep snuggled up in my arms. as I was holding her there, asleep in my arms I thought, what the heck, there is no better time than now to ask her. So I gently, lol, extricated myself from the couch and her, and went and got the ring from it's hiding spot, then snuggle back up to her and let her sleep. She needed a nap too, she had been spending the previous 3 days helping me feel better.

So, with the ring in my hand, I sat there holding her until she woke up. I have NEVER felt so good in my life, as I did for that couple hours.

When she woke up, after she was actually awake, Me, in my sniffling, sneezing, and coughing, with a runny nose, condition, got down on one knee in front of her on the couch and told her that I wanted to hold her in my arms every day for the rest of my life...

and before I could even finish what I had been planning on saying, she began crying (happy tears of course) and said yes.

We spent the rest of the day together, dancing, laughing, and snuggling, and just being so darn happy together.

yesterday evening, we told our families.




This didn't go as I had originally planned, but I think it went ok.

thank you all.

I am in such a good mood today, am feeling better, heart rate is down, etc... LOL.

Tonight our families are getting together for a new years/engagement celebration.

I could tell you so many cute stories about our day yesterday.

After the initial shock wore off, we put some of our favorite romantic songs on the stereo and danced away, and even though I have a horrid singing voice, I sang along (in my stuffy nose voice) with Frank Sinatra while we danced.

Our wonderful engagement night meal was Pizza, ordered in..lol, but at least it was good pizza.

Also, I never would have thought she could get any more beautiful than she already was, but I'll be damned if she isn't even more beautiful today than she was yesterday.

Anyway, I suppose I had better get myself ready for the trip to my 'rents house.
