I spent most my teenage/adult NYE's with the good ol Grateful Dead. Never anything like it, never will be anything like it.

My first show as 12-31-68. my cousin, who was several years older than I was and lived in SF, said let's go the show. So off we went. They passed around some Kool-Aid and he told me "Don't drink too much". Too late.

My Mom still tells me "you were different after tha weekend with Skip"...Little does she know.

I saw them every NYE they played in the bay area after that.

The night after Bill Graham died. The Dark Star with Ken Kesey (again) is incredible when he recites the ee cummings poem, Buffalo bill is Defunct.....while th band just riffs behind him. One of my all time favorites...Gimmie a minute and I will up it.....

Yeah since my brother was a huge Deadhead and since I grew up 20 Minutes from the Hampton coliseum it was hard not to be fully aware of the Dead even before they hit the "mainstream"

my fave show is the Bruce Springsteen 12-15-78. one of the most incredible nights of music I have ever seen. Santa Claus is Coming to Town is EPIC!!!!

So many of the shows featured there are ones I was at.....I was a regular at Winterland. we would get off work, fly down the interstate from Sac, see a show, drive back and do it all over again the next night....
