Year-end status report

I have ordered the black Riedell Carrera roller skates with both indoor and outdoor wheels (black), along with pads for wrists, elbows, and knees, and tools to change the wheels.

I have ordered the season tickets for the Rose City Rollers 2008 season, which includes tickets for the 2008 national tournament of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association.

We are probably taking delivery of a very sweet 8 year-old tabby cat next weekend who has lived in Alaska, Memphis, and Portland, but who is a bit afraid of the dogs at her current abode.

and my helmet is a super-tough Nutcase 8 Ball.



We've been having good luck with the low-profile skates at the rink, so we decided to go with the Carreras.

8. I've got one!!!

Let's see, it's been a long, odd year for me. Breakup, engagement, marriage, cat acquisition. Mom diagnosed with a fatal illness, Dad almost died. Lots of cooking, which is my stress reliever, plus I'm good at it. :)

Heading into the last semester of my Undergrad career, soon to be degreed in Economics (who woulda thunk it? :o). Nice 3.8 GPA, at the moment.

Just got the final grades for the Fall: A, A, A, A, A- :woohoo:

Then onto a break, and then Grad school, probably in Int'l Relations or Political Economy.

Planning on spending the next four weeks reorganizing my life in the physical, emotional, and psychic sectors. Lots more cooking. :)

My New Year's resolution is to knit myself into the stratosphere, and to get bikes for me and Sniffa.

13. 2007 was a wild, sad, bumpy, learn as you go ride

I finished remodeling my house, my grandfather passed away, my family stopped talking completely, I moved, I sprained both my ankles, I discovered Kabbalah, I learned to be more positive.

I'm looking forward to 2008. '07 was a rough haul. It pretty much kicked my ass and I wont miss much about it. Still, I'm alive & I did learn things so it wasn't all bad.

learned XHTML and CSS
become more proficient in JavaScript
learned some of Java EE: JSP, servlets and EJBs
visited the US for the first time.

Plans for the next year:

learn to dance
join a life drawing class
visit the US for a second time
visit the US for a third time, if he can.

Not much happenned in 2007 really... :sarcasm:

1) I opened a bookstore. Have I mentioned that? :D

2) I filed bankruptcy. (see #3. It was a CYA move suggested by my attorney)

3) I filed for divorce. Should have done that last year, but it's done.

4) Before #2 I bought a new (used) car.

5) for the first time in a decade, I submitted poetry to literary journals for publication.

6) Ended the year the best way possible :loveya:
