Do any of you hoover your cats?
I find this one hilarious visual. My friend in England told me today that he was going to "hoover the pusses" on Saturday. I thought he was joking.

It seems some cats love it, some don't.

Is this a "Brit-thing" or do we do it in America?

1. My cats would rip me to shreds if I tried.
I do use the hair dryer on them though. They like that.

11. It's the noise.
Kitties hate loud noises. Their ears are so sensitive (so much better to hear that mouse behind the fridge) that loud noises hurt their ears, and sudden banging will really mess with their minds.

I suppose if you had a Dust Buster that was quiet enough, the beast might settle down enough to enjoy the experience.

3. No.
The vacuum is the cat's least-favorite appliance. He runs under the bed as soon as he sees it come out.

Tho' I hear some cats allow this.

6. The dog once peed because of it
Maybe he had a traumatic Hoover experience in his youth?

5. My vet told me about a cat who likes having his tail vacuumed
Edited on Fri Feb-06-04 07:43 PM by flamingyouth
He goes up to the owner when she's using her hand-held vacuum and demands that she vacuum his tail! I really wish I had a video of that.

Winky loves to jump on the vacuum when we use it. Sometimes she yells and hisses at it too. It's pretty funny to watch.

7. Probably Not
But I think if you ever had to "Hoover" my cat, we would have to discuss the situation over a beer and a pool game before I'd invite you into my apartment.

10. It would have to be an "in-wall" vacuum
as the noise of normal portable vacuums ("hoovers") scare the blue fuck out of my cats. They think the vacuum is the harbinger of great evil. They've convinced me that cleaning the floor is a very bad idea, so instead of carpets, now we have a cat-fur floor. Very soft and warm.

13. Consenting Cats
Does hoovering mean sucking? There are all kinds of possibilities here, none of which can be mentioned. ;-)

14. our cat loves it
she's nine years old and has gone through a few interstate moves with us. This house has one of those in wall vacs so the noise is minimal.

She rolls all over to make sure we don't miss anything.

She also likes to be rolled with the lint remover, the one with the sticky, tear-off roller.

15. My cat loved it
My old cat named "workout" (he was rescued from a fitness club) loved it. He was 20 lbs. long black hair and when ever the vacuflo was started up he would come over and lie on his back so we could vacuum him.

His favourite food was black forest ham and deli shrimp. He used to climb on a the chair and bank on the blinds when he wanted out.

I had him for nine years and he got run over by a car. God I can't believe how much I miss him and his quirky personality.
