Free Bird!
I always listen to this every new years.

I think it's such a sad song, about a man who is unwilling to make a commitment and "can't change."

Well, another new year is here. Start changing.

1. too bad that song was so over played --
If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be travelling on, now,
cause theres too many places Ive got to see.
But, if I stayed here with you, girl,
Things just couldnt be the same.
cause Im as free as a bird now,
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I cant change.

Bye, bye, its been a sweet love.
Though this feeling I cant change.
But please dont take it badly,
cause lord knows Im to blame.
But, if I stayed here with you girl,
Things just couldnt be the same.
Cause Im as free as a bird now,
And this bird youll never change.
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I cant change.
Lord help me, I cant change.

3. Too many great facts on songfacts
http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=1703

Collins wrote the music long before Ronnie Van Zant came up with lyrics for it. Van Zant finally got inspired one night and had Collins and Gary Rossington play it over and over until he wrote the words.

It's great music, but the lyrics were inspired. Yeah, when I first heard it I thought it was a "kiss off bitch" song but I guess "I changed."

Great song and I played it loud and often in quadraphonic stereo

all the way to the east coast, in our Chevy van, when I left him!!
